31P Magnetic resonance imaging
April 6th, 2008 by chris
I am currently developing methods for magnetic resonance imaging of the human heart. Working at the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR), I am overseeing the installation of a state-of-the-art “phased array” detection system for MRI of phosphorous at 3T. This is hoped to give Oxford the most advanced cardiac metabolic MRI system of any institute in the world when fully operational. Under the supervision of Matt Robson and Stefan Neubauer, I will develop techniques for enhancing the image quality from this system. It is hoped that this will, for the first time, make it possible to obtain accurate diagnoses of individual patients by 31P MRI.
